This Modern trimmer preforms even as well as the other model. Far and away the two most useful features are the adjustable built in length dial which negates any freestanding length accessories, and the vacuum, which does appear to be strong than the one on the former model.

I have tested a few other trimmer before (re) purchasing this one, but they either came with half a pound of extra accessories, the blade turned dull on them actual fast or the rechargeable electric battery died in just a couple of months (despite charging it as per instructions guide).

This is a nice product. Work with power Cord ; Closer Cut without adaption top on.

The additional size of it is apparently needed for the inner vacuum. This vacuum "works" in that it doesn't permit hairs fall to the sink. But they turn constantly clogged inside the apparatus ; you 're never going to have them cleaned out, even after opening the slight plastic cover. The vacuum besides adds to the noise. And my razor doesn't feature a vacuum, so I 'm going to have to clean up hair.


One ill for this new edition is that the plastic trimming collector for the vacuum can not be taken as in the other model. This is a minor issue, but I consider the removable trimming container was soft to clean.

There are two other still more expensive models, one is the T1000, which holds a liquid mimetic-adhesive liquid metal skin and can shapeshift and copy and kill the user it comes in contact with, the other is the the T980, which has an even fancier body and exacted to have "turbo ability" for those who need the best gadget. In my opinion this T780 does a great job now, and I am just as happy with it now as I was a few years back.
The convenience, reliableness (I owned the early one for at least 3 yrs), and performance of this trimmer is far above the other brands.
(Keep off the deadly T1000, they went a bit too far with the technology!) .

I had an older version Norelco vacuum trimmer, and this one works much better! There are almost no hairs on the counter when I'm done trimming. It's been 3 weeks since the first charge, and I haven't had to recharge it yet.

This is a great trimmer. I was a bit skeptical before the purchase after I read the reviews but the trimmer is very good. The issues with trim under nose is almost not an issue. I love that it actually captures trimmed beard and, thus, I don't have to bother with cleaning after my self. It provides just the trimming size I wanted - but otherwise it there are 8 other lengths to suit many's needs. In addition, to adjust the trimming size you just set it to length you want and don't have to bother yourself with managing multiple clippers. I recommend it!

Trims beard, reduces mess, avoid bad power source decisions, August 20, 2005

I'm very happy with this purchase. There were three versions of the Trim 'n Vac: full-powered and corded, rechargeable battery powered, and plain battery powered. I read that there were problems replacing the rechargeable battery pack provided with the rechargeable model. Since I have a battery recharger, I thought the plain battery model made the most sense as I'll be able to recharge the batteries myself while having cordless operation.

It is amazing to see a sink with virtually no hair in it after trimming my beard. The vacuum actually works! I thought it was a stupid gimmick but had read some positive reviews on epinions.com. The unit works extremely well, although with it's vacuum function is probably a bit louder than other models on the market. I wouldn't say the noise is a problem, however.

The multi-adjustable head is bulky and needs care in order not to break when removing to use the shorter, more manageable beard guides. My feeling is that once I figure out which of the trimming guides I like best, that one will stay on the unit permanently and the others will be stored.

I like the simplicity of basic batteries, the low cost because of this, and the fact that you can easily use your own rechargeable batteries to have cordless operation.

Great Trimmer

I've owned Wahl trimmers for years because they last and trim with ease. I have a very full beard and make a big mess in the sink every time I trim it. I'm also lazy, that's why I have a beard in the first place so I don't have to shave every day. I'd put off trimming till I just had to because I don't like cleaning up the sink. Which means my beard didn't look neat all the time. This vacuum in a trimmer must be a new idea, or somehow I've missed it. 

If it were any other brand I'd of had second thoughts because I've bought those cheap light weight computer vacuums that can't pick up even a speck of dust. But this is a Wahl so I had to try it. I'm glad I did. This trimmer cuts great like all the other Wahl trimmers I've owned, and I'm most impressed that the vacuum works better than I could have expected possible in such a light weight trimmer. 

Some say it's bulky? I hold it with 2 fingers and zoom it through my beard with no problem. There's no bulk and very little missed hairs from the vacuum. Again, if it were any other brand of trimmer I'd have doubts that it would last because it is so light weight. But, this is a Wahl. I trust 'em.
